Environmental Education in Early Childhood Vic Inc (EEEC) aims to promote a holistic approach to environmental education and sustainable practices in early childhood and the early years of primary school. The approach involves policy development, house keeping practices, play and learning experiences and strategies for working with children, staff and parents. EEEC was established in June 1992. Initially, our founding members conducted in-services on environmental education which generated a great amount of interest leading to the formation of the EEEC organisation. Regular informal meetings emerged to provide support, resources, networking and problem solving for members.
For over 16 years EEEC Vic Inc, as the peak professional body for early childhood education for sustainability in Victoria, has demonstrated national leadership in this emerging field. EEEC Vic Inc is well connected with interstate sister organisations the Queensland Early Childhood Environmental Network (QECEEN) and the New South Wales Early Childhood Environmental Education Network (NSWECEEN) and also, nationally through the Australian Association for Environmental Education Early Childhood Special Interest Group (AAEE EC SIG).
